Updating java on blackberry
UPDATE: Blackberry has made such a hash of this, that we have resorted to releasing a native application for Black Berries again...
- bottom line: just use the Blackberry app in stead of the ordinary . You can download this or send it to your phone using the GS-911downloader.
Documentation (including the Compatibility Matrix) specific to Black Berry Collaboration Service 10 can be found here.
Upgrading the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on the Black Berry Enterprise Server can affect five services: the Black Berry Administration Service - Application Server, the Black Berry Administration Service - Native Node Container, the Black Berry Mobile Data System Connection Service, the Black Berry Instant Messaging Connector, and the Black Berry Monitoring Console.
However, Java compatibility is not included in this matrix.
Black Berry Collaboration Service 10.2.3 is the latest version for Black Berry Enterprise Service 10.2, and installs Java Runtime Environment 7 Update 25 by default.
Warning: The following procedure involves modifying the computer registry.
This can cause substantial damage to the Windows operating system.
Thanks for helping us achieve our mission of helping everyone learn how to do anything.
Note: Java Runtime Environment version 7 is not supported on Black Berry Enterprise Service 10 version 10.0.
If there are requirements to upgrade to Java Runtime Environment version 7 then upgrade to Black Berry Enterprise Service 10 version 10.1 or later.
To determine what OS version you're currently running, click the Options icon on your Black Berry home screen and select About.
In the event that an automatic or accidental upgrade of the Java Runtime Environment version 7 software has taken place on a Black Berry Enterprise Service server, the following information can be used to revert back to the default version which was installed when the Black Berry Enterprise Service software was installed.
